Summary of the Case:
In the late evening of Wednesday the 2nd of June the Alarm Phone was alerted by a friend of one of the
travellers to a boat in distress carrying 14 travellers, all men. The boat, a green rubber boat of 5 meters, had departed around 6:00h in
the morning from Tamsaman. Soon after receiving the distress call, at 00:12h CEST we alerted the Spanish Search and Rescue Organization Salvamento Maritimo (SM). When we called again SM in Almeria the following morning they confirmed that the boat had been rescued and the travellers had been taken to Motril.

Border police patrols
While the exact location of patrols is of course constantly changing, this line indicates the approximate boundary routinely patrolled by border guards’ naval assets.
