Summary of the Case:
Around 08:00h CEST the morning of Wednesday the 28th of April, the Alarm Phone received a call from a boat in distress which had departed from Zuwara. The boat was carrying around 100 travellers including 30 women and approximately 15 children. At 08:04h we received their GPS position and at 09:43h we alerted, Italian, Maltese and Libyan authorities as well as the ngo-boats Ocean Viking and Sea Watch. In the early afternoon we received the information that the boat had been intercepted by the so-called Libyan coastguard.

Border police patrols
While the exact location of patrols is of course constantly changing, this line indicates the approximate boundary routinely patrolled by border guards’ naval assets.
