Summary of the Case:

On 9 December 2019 at 00:33am CET the Alarm Phone got alerted to a boat in distress carrying 5 people close to the southern shore of Lesvos. The people reported that water was entering the boat and transferred their GPS location to us. From then on, we could not get through to the people anymore to find out more about their situation and at 01:02am we called the Greek Coastguard and passed the information. At 01:06am the Greek Coastguard informed us that they were already close to a boat which matched the description we had given them. At 02:14am the Greek Coastguard confirmed that the rescue was completed and at 07:52am, one of the travelers confirmed that they were save, as well.

Border police patrols
