Summary of the Case: At 1:26am CEST on Thursday the 18th of April 2019 the Alarm phone shift team were alerted to a group of 19 travellers whose engine has stopped. The boat is North of Lesvos but still in Turkish waters. We were unable to make contact, but sent them information about overheated engines. At 3:58am the contact person informs us that the travellers are back in Turkey, as seen from their Whatsapp live location (which had only been shared with the contact person). This live location ended at 6.23am close to the village of Ayvacik. We were unable to make any direct contact with this group.

Border police patrols
