Summary of the Case:

On Thursday, 11th of October at 5:41am, we were alerted to a group of 64 people (32 children, 22 women, 10 men) who stranded on a rocky beach at the north east of Samos island. Their boat was damaged and they were stuck in the mountains of the island. At 5:56am we reached the travellers that asked for assistance to move on. At 6:05am we called Samos Port Police and informed them about the group. We also sent an email to the authorities including all information. Afterwards, we continuously tried to reach the group again, but couldn’t establish a connection anymore. At 7:13am we called Samos Port Police again. They informed us that the group had been found. At 8:40am the contact person confirmed that the travellers had been picked up by the police.

Border police patrols
