Summary of the case: On Saturday the 12th of October 2024, the Alarm Phone shift team was alerted by a relative to a group of 20 travellers, including at least one minor, in distress in the Western Mediterranean Sea. We were not able to reach the travellers but received their GPS position from the relative. We then immediately alerted the Spanish search and rescue organisation Salvamento Maritimo, relaying all the information we had. We later learned that the travellers had been rescued by Salvamento Maritimo.

  • Border police patrols
