In the evening of the 5 of June (at 7.36 PM) Father Mussie Zerai has received and transmitted to the Italian coast guards the following information of distress:
"Abbiamo ricevuto richiesta di aiuto dal mediterraneo da una imbarcazione con a bordo circa 370 persone di cui 80 donne 30 minori tutti di nazionalità Eritrea in viaggio da 12 ore partiti dalla Libia.
La loro posizione al momento della segnalazione ore 19.36 Lat N. 034 Deg 010'049.613 Lon E 012 Deg 031'025.985 il telefono satellitare a bordo +8821669978350"
