Summary of the Case:
In the evening of the 13th of February, Alarm Phone was alerted by a group of around 20 people, including 3 children and 2 elderly who had stranded in the South on Lesvos. The people told us that some of them needed medical assistance, they were risking hypothermia as their clothes were wet and they were freezing.
At 22:06 CET we alerted the relevant authorities via E-Mail. The Coordination Center in Piraeus confirmed the reception of the alert.
A little later the people got in contact again to tell us they had moved a little and sent us a current position as well as their names, which we forwarded to the authorities.
Shortly before midnight a person from the group told us that the police had arrived and sent us pictures from inside the bus, then we lost contact. We assume they had been taken to the camp.

Border police patrols
While the exact location of patrols is of course constantly changing, this line indicates the approximate boundary routinely patrolled by border guards’ naval assets. In the open sea, it usually correspond to the outer extent of the contiguous zone, the area in which “State may exercise the control necessary to prevent infringement of its customs, fiscal, immigration or sanitary laws” (UNCLOS, art. 33).
