Summary of the case: On Friday the 23st of August 2024, the Alarm Phone shift team was alerted by a relative to a group of 120 travellers, including 15 women and three children, in distress in the Central Mediterranean Sea. The travellers had left from Sabratha in the early hours of the morning on a grey rubber boat. We received their GPS position from the relative and immediately alerted the relevant search and rescue authorities, relaying all the information we had. Later, we learned that the travellers had been intercepted by the so-called Libyan coastguard.
