Watch The Med Alarm Phone Investigations – 28th of November 2023
Case name: 2023_11_28-WM078
Situation: 14 people departed from Tanger by boat and returned on their own to the Rif, Morocco
Status of WTM Investigation: Concluded
Place of Incident: Western Mediterranean

Summary of the Case: On the 28th of November Alarm Phone was notified by a relative about a boat with 14 people, among which there were 6 women, who had left Tanger in the direction of Spain. Unfortunately the alarmphone shift team was unable to contact the people on the boat. We immediately relayed all the information we had to the relevant authorities. Eventually we learned from the relative that all the people returned on their own to the Rif due to problems with their boat and that all of them made it safely back to land.
