Summary of the Case: On the 23th of November, a relative alerted the Alarm Phone shift team to a boat in distress in the Atlantic Ocean, that was suspected to be losing air. The group of around 83 travellers, including 11 women, had left from south of Laayoune, Western Sahara, in the early morning hours of the same day in a black zodiac. The shift team could not establish contact to the travellers but relayed all the information to the Spanish search and rescue organisation Salvamento Maritimo. The next hours and days, the shift teams tried to find out information on the whereabouts of this boat but did not succeed. Finally, on the 25th of November, the shift team got the information that the group had been rescued by Salvamento Maritimo.

Border police patrols
While the exact location of patrols is of course constantly changing, this line indicates the approximate boundary routinely patrolled by border guards’ naval assets.
