Summary of the Case:
On the 28th of August the Alarm Phone got informed about one sick man who was left behind between the town of Mikro Dereio and Metaxades by the people he was travelling with. As he had no phone we were unable to get in direct contact. From 17:08 CEST on we called several border guard and police stations to forward the GPS location of the man, but as none of them wanted to give information on how they proceed, until now we do not know about the whereabouts of the man in distress.

Border police patrols
While the exact location of patrols is of course constantly changing, this line indicates the approximate boundary routinely patrolled by border guards’ naval assets. In the open sea, it usually correspond to the outer extent of the contiguous zone, the area in which “State may exercise the control necessary to prevent infringement of its customs, fiscal, immigration or sanitary laws” (UNCLOS, art. 33).
