Summary of the Case:
On the 27th of August Alarm Phone was informed by a relative about a group of people who were reportedly pushed back to Turkish waters by the Hellenic Coast Guard earlier. We got in contact with the people on the boat and then called the Turkish Coast Guard at 11:09 CEST who told us they were informed about the boat by "the Greek side" already. At 14:45 CEST the Turkish Coast Guard confirmed the rescue of the group. We couldn't establish contact with people on the boat again.

Border police patrols
While the exact location of patrols is of course constantly changing, this line indicates the approximate boundary routinely patrolled by border guards’ naval assets. In the open sea, it usually correspond to the outer extent of the contiguous zone, the area in which “State may exercise the control necessary to prevent infringement of its customs, fiscal, immigration or sanitary laws” (UNCLOS, art. 33).
