Place of Incident: Eastern Med

Summary of the Case: On Friday the 8th of July 2022, the Alarm Phone shift team was alerted by a relative to a group of seven travellers of who one had died, stuck between Turkey and Greece on an islet in the Evros river. We managed to reach the travellers. They told us: "Turkey they beat us not to return back to them and greece refused our call on 112". They told us that they had called the Turkish police, but that they refused to assist them. Several of the surviving travellers were sick. We immediately alerted both the Greek and Turkish police, urging them to rescue the stranded travellers. The following evening, the travellers informed us that they had reached safety on their own, but had had to leave the body of their fellow traveller behind.
