Summary of the case: On Monday the 14th of February 2022, the Alarm Phone shift team received a direct call from a group of 18 travellers, 16 men and two women of which one was pregnant, in distress in the Central Mediterranean Sea. The travellers had left from Zuwarah the previous day on a wooden boat. The travellers had no life jackets and their boat was unseaworthy. Later, we learned that the travellers had been rescued by the search and rescue NGO vessel Ocean Viking and that they were all safe.
