Summary of Case: In the night of November 2nd Alarm Phone was called by a group of 45 people, including women and children, in distress who had departed Zawiya in a rubber boat the previous day. The group informed us of their GPS position and we forwarded the alert to authorities at 03.02 CET. At 04.15 CET, the group in distress contacted us again, informing us they had been rescued and were fine.

Border police patrols
While the exact location of patrols is of course constantly changing, this line indicates the approximate boundary routinely patrolled by border guards’ naval assets.
