Summary of Case

At 13.05 CEST on May 14th we were alerted to two men in distress some distance from El Bouri oil platform. Eventually we were received a gps position, which was forwarded to authorities at 13.44 CEST. In the evening of the same day we became aware of a tweet stating the rescue of two men, fitting the info of this case, by Sea-Eye.

Border police patrols
While the exact location of patrols is of course constantly changing, this line indicates the approximate boundary routinely patrolled by border guards’ naval assets. In the open sea, it usually correspond to the outer extent of the contiguous zone, the area in which “State may exercise the control necessary to prevent infringement of its customs, fiscal, immigration or sanitary laws” (UNCLOS, art. 33).
