Summary of the Case:
On the 17th of January 2021 at 18:28h CET, the Alarm Phone was informed about a boat in distress, carrying 24 travelers. There were eleven minors, two women and eleven men in the group and their boat was green. Our shift team tried to get through to them on the phone, but without success. After several attempts to talk to them directly, we informed the Spanish Search and Rescue Organization Salvamento Marítimo (SM) in Almería via e-mail. During the night and the next morning, our shift teams continuously tried to reach the travelers, but without success. In the morning, we learned that the people had been rescued by SM and had been brought to Motril.

Border police patrols
