Summary of the Case: At 23:00h of Wednesday the 1st of July the Alarm Phone was alerted to 13 travellers in distress, including 3 children and 4 women. The group was stuck on land in Turkey and asked us to call the police. At 23:52h our shift team called the Police in Marmaris, however as no one spoke English we had difficulties passing on the information. A few minutes later we called the Turkish coastguard and sent them the information we had via email. The following morning, at 07:15h we received confirmation from the Turkish coastguard that they had found and picked up the travellers, which were finally 17.

Border police patrols
While the exact location of patrols is of course constantly changing, this line indicates the approximate boundary routinely patrolled by border guards’ naval assets.
