Summary of the Cases:
On Friday, 19th of July, at 08:30pm our shift team was alerted to a boat in distress. We learned that there were 58 travelers, among them 12 women and 3 children, who had started from Nador at 06:00am local time. We could not establish a direct connection to the travelers and at 08:52pm the contact person let us know that the boat was in urgent distress and at 09:23pm we got a second number of the boat which we could not call, either, and we sent them a text message. At 09:58pm we called Salvamento Marítimo and received the information from them that they were conducting a rescue operation of a group of 58 people at that moment. At 10:25pm we received confirmation of the rescue originating by one of the relatives of the travelers.

Border police patrols
