Summary of the Case: On September 23rd at 5.51am CET, the Alarm Phone received news of a boat with 40 people asking for help. At 6.14am, the shift team contacted the boat directly and received further information, including that two people were in the water. At 6.29am, the Greek Coast Guard was contacted. The shift team maintained contact with the boat and the coast guard, but at 7.59 am lost contact with the boat as their number became unavailable. Ultimately, the Alarm Phone received news that the boat reached Samos on its own. We could not figure out later on what happened with the two people who fell into the water, because the contact to the people was lost.
