Summary of the Case: On Thursday, the 15th of March 2018 at 7am, a contact person informed the Alarm Phone about a boat in distress south of the Greek island of Kos, with 36 people on board, facing very high waves. We received the GPS position and several phone numbers of the travellers on board, and at 7.32am, we briefly reached one of them. At 7.42am, the contact person forwarded two photos to us, indicating that the travellers had already been transferred to a rescue vessel. At 2.12pm, our contact person finally confirmed to us that all travellers from that boat had been rescued and brought to the Greek island of Kos.

Border police patrols
