Summary of the Case: On Thursday, the 3rd of November 2016 at 9.15am, the Alarm Phone was informed by a contact person about a boat in distress, which had started from the beach at Hotel Tarifa near Tangier/Morocco at 2am, carrying 10 travellers including one pregnant women. The contact person had been in contact with the boat until 6am and forwarded the travellers’ phone number to us. We were not able to reach the travellers directly but called the Spanish rescue organization Salvamento Marítimo and reported about the boat. However, we were informed that the Moroccan Marine Royal had already intercepted the boat.
