Summary of the Case:

On Tuesday, 16th of July, 11am CEST our shift team received the information of two people stranded in the north of Symi Island, one of them a 70-year old woman. At 11:15am we informed the Port Police on Symi via phone call and passed on the information and a GPS location of the travelers and sent an e-mail with the corresponding information.
At 11:40am we tried to inform the stranded persons about the process but could not get through to them. At 11:59am we learned from the Port Police that they had sent out a rescue vessel towards the stranded people. One hour later we called the Port Police again and they confirmed the rescue of the two travelers.

Border police patrols
