Summary of the Case:

On Thursday, 6th of September, at 11:30pm, we were alerted to a boat close to Kos island. The boat was in distress and its engine was not working any more. Among the 14 people on board were 4 children. At 11:39pm we called the Greek Coast Guard in Piraeus and alerted them to the case. At 11:44pm we received a voice message of the travellers, informing that water was entering the boat already. At 11:48pm we received their new position and passed it on to the Greek Coast Guard via email. At 0:13am we received an updated position and the information that the boat was about to sink. At 0:45am we again received a new position that we passed on to the Coast Guard as well. At 0:49am we received a rescue confirmation.

Border police patrols
