Watch The Med Alarm Phone Investigations – 21st of June 2020
Case name: 2020_06_21-WM464
Situation: 14 people, including a young girl, probably rescued to Almeria
Status of WTM Investigation: Concluded
Place of Incident: Western Mediterranean
Summary of the Case:

At around 10:00 CEST, we were contacted by a relative of somebody on a boat that was heading towards Almeria in Spain. The boat had left from Morocco the day before. The relative provided us with the phone numbers of some people on board and told us that the boat was carrying at least one woman and her small girl. We were unable to contact the boat, despite repeated attempts. We kept in contact with the relative and search for information from the authorities. In the end we found information from the Spanish Search and Rescue organisation, Salvamento Maritimo, Twitter feed that matched the information we had about the boat. We concluded that the travellers had been rescued and brought to Spain.
