Summary of the Case:
On 23rd of April at 10:40h CEST the Alarm Phone was called by a friend of two men, one Somalian, 16 years, and one Maroccan, 45 years old, who went missing in the night of 17th of April. The men tried to cross the Evros river that borders Greece and Turkey. In the afternoon of 23rd of April we informed different border polices and nearby police station, but none of them had information about these two people. We advised the friend of the people to approach to the Red Cross to ask for their whereabouts.

Border police patrols
While the exact location of patrols is of course constantly changing, this line indicates the approximate boundary routinely patrolled by border guards’ naval assets. In the open sea, it usually correspond to the outer extent of the contiguous zone, the area in which “State may exercise the control necessary to prevent infringement of its customs, fiscal, immigration or sanitary laws” (UNCLOS, art. 33).
