Case name: 2019_12_18-WM435
Situation: two boats heading to Canary islands, rescued by Salvamento Marítimo
Status of WTM Investigation: concluded
Place of Incident: Western Mediterranean

Summary of the Case:
On 18 December in the evening the Alarm Phone received information about a convoy that started 3 days ago around Laayoune and Dakhla. We were provided with a telephone number of the travellers but all our attemps during the night to reach the boat have not been succesful. The next day, 19 December at 12:50h CET, our shift team called Salvamento Marítimo (SM) in Las Palmas who stated to just have spotted two boats in the south of Gran Canaria. When we called again around 16:00h the authority confirmed the rescue of the boats 1,5 hours ago.
